The Team

Anthony Morgan – Managing Director

Anthony Morgan’s background is as a multi-skilled engineer working in systems automation and marine engineering before turning his talents to the research of next generation renewable energy technologies and systems integration. His career has taken him on a journey working with Senior Saudi Royalty and Microsoft Business Partners working at senior management level for much of his career. He has worked as an engineer for 22 years and has been actively involved within the renewables sector for the last 10 years.

Prior to Newform Energy, Anthony was Technical Director of Passivehouse Solutions Ltd. which was set up to introduce and promote high quality innovative products into the construction sector in order to facilitate the Governments, Zero-Carbon Agenda.

Anthony is also co-founder the Carbon Free Group, which is a Sustainability Consortium, of companies that are dedicated to making zero-carbon living both practical and affordable today. Its members’ skills and expertise deliver projects from an outline idea to a completed building or renovation using the best talents, technologies and designs. He is responsible for the evaluation of new technologies, product development and master planning.

Anthony’s background in a broad spectrum of engineering disciplines and his long term passion as an environmentalist has enabled him to quickly assess and evaluate the best environmental technologies for suitability and appropriateness.

"A sustainable future will need an appreciation for harmonisation, working with nature not against it, working alongside others not fighting against them and most importantly borrowing not stealing from the world around us. Nature is the greatest engineer; I seek to work with nature not fight against it."

Nigel Wakefield – Commercial Director

Nigel joins us after more than two decades in the banking and utility sectors. He has extensive experience in the UK energy markets having been actively involved in the development of the wholesale trading markets in natural gas and electricity in the years following deregulation. He has worked and consulted in numerous sectors of those markets including natural gas storage, LNG, and wholesale trading of oil, coal, gas and power. More recently he has been involved in developing marketing and trading strategies in wholesale financial energy markets on a global basis.

He has been a passionate enthusiast about renewable energy and the environment for more than a decade – finally deciding to throw in the towel in the financial world and to align his broad business skills with his deeply-held beliefs.

“Renewable energy is not a fad; it will become increasingly mainstream as more and more people recognise that it is an integral and essential part of the solution in mitigating the twin perils of resource depletion and climate change. Those who believe that ‘the market will solve the problem’ have not considered how that particular solution might look from a number of perspectives.”

Jae Mather – Associate

Jae Mather is the Director of Sustainability at Carbon Free Group and has worked in the environmental and sustainability sectors for over 10 years in numerous countries across the globe. Originally from Vancouver, Jae holds a BA in Geography from Simon Fraser University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Decision Making from the Open University.

With a background in UK and EU government, sustainable business support, mainstream business and environmental technology he has become a consultant in global environmental issues, eco-enterprise, environmental technology and sustainability. His extensive project, service management and consultancy experience gained in the UK and abroad have provided him with a strong background in Strategy Development and Planning, CSR, Resource Efficiency, Environmental Auditing and Carbon Management.

He developed an award winning eco-cleaning sustainable procurement policy for a local government authority in the UK that was used as an example of best practice within the European Commission. This policy is a practical example of how sustainability can be integrated into a mainstream business, at no additional cost, with huge environmental and social benefit.
